Shhhh! š Surprise #butterfly #mobile for the mama-to-be! šš¼#crafty

My mother absolutely LOVES butterflies.Ā So for Mother’s Day last year I bought a shadowbox frame ($8 at IKEA).Ā I took my Martha Stewart butterfly paper punches and used red, green and light pink (to match my mom’s bedroom) cardstock I had to punch the shapes.Ā
I took a “Mom” scrapbook sticker I already had and pasted it into the center. I used the various shapes to create a whimsical design.Ā To achieve the 3D look I slightly bent the butterflies in the center and dabbed glue there.Ā To apply them onto the cardstock I used the corner of a ruler to press it in without having to press the entire shape.

I made a wreath for my friend as a birthday gift.Ā She has a navy blue front door (not pictured) and has pillows with bright pink and teal flowers on it on benches on the front porch.Ā
These pins [here] & [here] inspired me.Ā I used a Styrofoam base and wrapped it with 2 layers of white yarn.Ā This was VERY time consuming but the end result makes it worth it.Ā I painted a letter “W” to match the flowers and attached it with glue gunning flower pins.Ā I detached the daises from their stems and attached them the same way.
